What is a Wobble Cushion?
Wobble Cushions (sometimes called disc cushions or instability cushions) are small round inflatable cushions, strong enough to sit or stand on. They are designed to offer the user a seat that can improve their posture and help with reducing the need to fidgeting or perform repetitive actions by creating "active sitting". It can also use whilst stood on to build core strength and practise balance.
How does it work?
- If the user sits on the cushion they will instantly become unstable (they will wobble!) and are encouraged to engage their back and core muscles. This is sometimes called "active sitting".
- Sitting on a Wobble Cushion is similar to sitting on a Therapy Ball – only smaller, portable and more convenient.
- The instability engages the core muscles improving posture and core stability.
- The wobble effect makes sensory seeking users focus on how they sit, reducing fidgeting and helping to improve focus on the task in hand.
- The Wobble Cushion can be used on a chair or on the floor.
- They are strong enough to be stood on to build core strength and practise balance.

Good to know:
- Maximum weight 200kg / 32 stone.
- Made from flexible PVC free & latex free material and measuring 35cm diameter.
- On one side there is an anti-slip surface while on the other side there are tiny bumps that are designed to stimulate sensory receptors.
- Wobble Cushions are not meant to be too comfortable!
- They are meant to be unstable and slightly uncomfortable to make sitting down a physical exercise – they will never be as comfortable as slouching!
- Sitting on a Wobble Cushion engages the core muscles helping to improve core stability – so it is effectively an exercise.
- It is recommended that the Wobble Cushion is not sat on all day – about ½ hour at a time is long enough. Put it to one side for a while and then use it again at regular intervals throughout the day.
- The Wobble Cushion can also be great fun to stand on to build muscle tone and help balance and concentration. Stand on both legs, one leg, make a tree shape etc…..be creative and have fun!
ON RECEIPT OF YOUR ORDER
On receipt of your order please open all packages and thoroughly check for missing or damaged products as soon as possible. You must notify Sensory Direct of any missing or damaged products within 3 days of the delivery. If we are not notified of missing or damaged products within 3 days we are unable to claim from the Courier and we will be unable to refund or replace the missing or damaged products. If the packaging appears damaged and you do not have time to check the products you should sign the Courier's paperwork and add the word "Damaged".
Non-receipt of your order must be notified to Sensory Direct within 7 days of notification of despatch.

Christmas Despatch and Delivery
We will continue to despatch in stock products until Tuesday 23rd December however please order with sufficient time for Christmas delivery.
Please be aware we cannot guarantee Christmas delivery as once your products have been passed to the courier we have no influence or control over their delivery timeframes.

If all items are in stock we aim to despatch your order the same working day (Monday to Friday) when placed before 2pm. For larger orders and School Purchase Orders despatch times may vary.
Sensory Direct’s Weighted Blankets, Weighted Jackets, Shoulder Wraps, Lap Pads and other handmade products may take 3-5 working days to be despatched, if not in stock.
- Delivery is FREE for online orders of £45 and above within Mainland UK (excluding Highlands, Offshore Islands and Northern Ireland).
- Mainland UK delivery charges are £5.95 for Courier delivery for orders under £45. (See FAQs for Courier Estimated Delivery Times).
- Some larger products may be delivered directly from the manufacturer. Delivery times may vary. Please ensure someone is available to accept your delivery during the indicated delivery times, as a redelivery fee may be applied if no one is present.
- Please note that once an order has been placed the delivery address cannot be changed.

Christmas Returns Policy
We want to give our customers peace of mind that all eligible products purchased between 1st November 2025 and 25th December 2025 can be returned or exchanged until 31st January 2026.
Customers simply need to return the product(s) in the original re-sellable condition together with the completed Returns Form.
Please note this excludes reporting missing or damaged products which must be reported within 3 working days, so please ensure you open and check your order when it arrives.

We want you to be 100% happy with your purchase, but if you find that the product is not suitable you must return the product to us within 30 days of receipt for a refund or exchange of the same or similar. There are some exemptions to this, please view the Returns page for further information.
Returns of sale products must be within 14 days of receipt.
To receive a refund or exchange, goods must be returned unused, in their original packaging and with all original documentation.

Our Story
When my son was born with autism, my world changed and Sensory Direct was born
Ethan had been prescribed different forms of medication, and although they helped a little, I didn’t want to become reliant upon them, so Ethan’s Paediatric Consultant suggested a Weighted Blanket. I remember hearing this and thinking ‘what on earth is a Weighted Blanket’? At this stage I was blissfully unaware of how life changing that Weighted Blanket would become.
