Large Adjustable Weighted Blanket 4.5kg

Our Adjustable, fully washable Large Weighted Blanket with interchangeable weights is the most flexible and durable weighted blanket available.  The large blanket is a single duvet size and is suitable for older children and adults.

The calming weight is contained in our uniquely designed tamper proof pockets ensuring even weight distribution across the blanket for maximum safety and effectiveness.

Measures 200cm x 135cm and is designed to be used on top of your normal bedding  (it's only cotton so won't make it too hot.) 

Weight can be added or removed from the blanket as required - we make additional weights too, for your reference they can be viewed HERE.   The large blanket will fit into an ordinary duvet cover for easy care and cleaning.    We also have a small range of fire retardant covers available here.

Our blankets are the only weighted blankets with a CE marking and are made in the UK in compliance with guidelines issued by the MHRA (Medicinesl & Healthcare Regulatory Agency).  We offer a lifetime guarantee on our weighted blankets and will repair or replace them free of charge in the event of any problems.

We recommend that you consult with your Occupational Therapist or other healthcare professional prior to using a weighted blanket or other weighted product.   It is important that the weight of your blanket is in proportion to the bodyweight of the person using it.  The commonly accepted principal verified by Occupational Therapists is that the weighted blanket should not exceed 10% of the users bodyweight.

  • Lifesaver!

    "Wow the difference this has made. My little one is 4 years old and diagnosed with autism, global developmental delay and is non verbal. She requires high levels of deep pressure to get calm and sleep had always been one of the bigger issues, both with settling at night and then again with waking up frequently during the night and finding it hard to settle again.

    This is where this weighted blanket has been a lifesaver.

    She settles to bed between 8-9pm and sleeps through without waking until about 5ish most nights now. Obviously we have had bad nights in between but only a few instead of every night, as a result she is much calmer and happier during the day and we see less frustration.   • Our son is delighted

    We ordered and received within 24 hours, despite Covid lock down and our son is delighted with it. He doesn't use it for sleep but enjoys snuggling under it when watching television. He's not quite so demanding that we sit and cuddle him which can be a bit trying otherwise.

    ON RECEIPT OF YOUR ORDER

    On receipt of your order please open all packages and thoroughly check for missing or damaged products as soon as possible.  You must notify Sensory Direct of any missing or damaged products within 3 days of the delivery. If we are not notified of missing or damaged products within 3 days we are unable to claim from the Courier and we will be unable to refund or replace the missing or damaged products. If the packaging appears damaged and you do not have time to check the products you should sign the Courier's paperwork and add the word "Damaged".

    Non-receipt of your order must be notified to Sensory Direct within 7 days of notification of despatch.

     

    DELIVERY

    If all items are in stock we aim to despatch your order the next working day (Monday to Friday) when placed before 2pm.   For larger orders and School Purchase Orders despatch times may vary.

    Sensory Direct’s Weighted Blankets, Weighted Jackets, Shoulder Wraps, Lap Pads and other handmade products may take 3-5 working days to be despatched, if not in stock.  

    • Delivery is FREE for online orders of £45 and above within Mainland UK (excluding Highlands, Offshore Islands and Northern Ireland).
    • Mainland UK delivery charges are £5.95 for Courier delivery for orders under £45. (See FAQs for Courier Estimated Delivery Times).
    • Some larger products may be delivered directly from the manufacturer.  Delivery times may vary.  Please ensure someone is available to accept your delivery during the indicated delivery times, as a redelivery fee may be applied if no one is present.
    • Please note that once an order has been placed the delivery address cannot be changed.
    • Please note we cannot deliver to a PO Box address.
    • We are currently unable to ship outside of the UK unless you hold a trade account with us.

    Christmas Returns Policy 

    We want to give our customers peace of mind that all eligible products purchased between 1st November 2025 and 25th December 2025 can be returned or exchanged until 31st January 2026.

    Customers simply need to return the product(s) in the original re-sellable condition together with the completed Returns Form.

    Please note this excludes reporting missing or damaged products which must be reported within 3 working days, so please ensure you open and check your order when it arrives.

    We want you to be 100% happy with your purchase, but if you find that the product is not suitable you must return the product to us within 30 days of receipt for a refund or exchange of the same or similar.     Our Story

    When my son was born with autism, my world changed and Sensory Direct was born

    Ethan had been prescribed different forms of medication, and although they helped a little, I didn’t want to become reliant upon them, so Ethan’s Paediatric Consultant suggested a Weighted Blanket. I remember hearing this and thinking ‘what on earth is a Weighted Blanket’? At this stage I was blissfully unaware of how life-changing that Weighted Blanket would become.
