These Round Therapy Balls are commonly used for:

Improving dynamic balance by sitting or lying on top of the Round Therapy Ball.
Activities to facilitate movement and general gross motor coordination.
Exercises to increase core strength by working on the abdomen and back control.
Sensory activities such as applying deep pressure with the Round Therapy Ball to calm.
Gradual introduction of increased weight bearing activities to improve muscle tone and strength.

Good to know:

Burst resistant - in case of a puncture, the Round Therapy Ball will deflate slowly.
Made from PVC which is free from BPA, phthalates, latex and rubber.

Choosing the correct size

As a quick guide before buying a ball, measure the distance from the user’s armpit to the middle finger tip and match this measurement to the height of the ball (within 5cm). This is a good starting point and once you have purchased your ball and inflated it you can follow steps 1 to 3 below to ensure you have the correct ball size.

We are happy to exchange your ball for a bigger or smaller size if necessary.

Sizing

We have laid out some basic guidelines below, however we recommend that you consult with an Occupational Therapist or Physio with regards to the sizing of your ideal ball.

With the user straddling the ball on the centre saddle, their weight is evenly distributed and feet are flat on the ground.
Ideally the knees should be level with the pelvis creating a 90-degree angle at both the hips and the knees with the user’s thighs parallel to the ground.
The head, shoulder and pelvis of the user should be in a vertical line, with no leaning necessary to act as a counter balance to keep them on the ball. The ball can be inflated and deflated slightly to adjust the height - the ball should be firm enough to sit on and should not exceed the maximum recommended size. A fully inflated ball will compress less and will therefore be less stable (making some exercises harder as the ball will tend to roll more easily). Letting a little air out will make increase the rolling resistance giving it more stability.

ON RECEIPT OF YOUR ORDER

On receipt of your order please open all packages and thoroughly check for missing or damaged products as soon as possible. You must notify Sensory Direct of any missing or damaged products within 3 days of the delivery. If we are not notified of missing or damaged products within 3 days we are unable to claim from the Courier and we will be unable to refund or replace the missing or damaged products. If the packaging appears damaged and you do not have time to check the products you should sign the Courier's paperwork and add the word "Damaged".

Non-receipt of your order must be notified to Sensory Direct within 7 days of notification of despatch.

DELIVERY

If all items are in stock we aim to despatch your order the next working day (Monday to Friday) when placed before 2pm. For larger orders and School Purchase Orders despatch times may vary.

Sensory Direct’s Weighted Blankets, Weighted Jackets, Shoulder Wraps, Lap Pads and other handmade products may take 3-5 working days to be despatched, if not in stock.

Delivery is FREE for online orders of £45 and above within Mainland UK (excluding Highlands, Offshore Islands and Northern Ireland).
Mainland UK delivery charges are £5.95 for Courier delivery for orders under £45. (See FAQs for Courier Estimated Delivery Times).
Some larger products may be delivered directly from the manufacturer. Delivery times may vary. Please ensure someone is available to accept your delivery during the indicated delivery times, as a redelivery fee may be applied if no one is present.
Please note that once an order has been placed the delivery address cannot be changed.
Please note we cannot deliver to a PO Box address.
We are currently unable to ship outside of the UK unless you hold a trade account with us.

Christmas Returns Policy

We want to give our customers peace of mind that all eligible products purchased between 1st November 2025 and 25th December 2025 can be returned or exchanged until 31st January 2026.

Customers simply need to return the product(s) in the original re-sellable condition together with the completed Returns Form.

Please note this excludes reporting missing or damaged products which must be reported within 3 working days, so please ensure you open and check your order when it arrives.

We want you to be 100% happy with your purchase, but if you find that the product is not suitable you must return the product to us within 30 days of receipt for a refund or exchange of the same or similar. There are some exemptions to this, please view the Returns page for further information.

Returns of sale products must be within 14 days of receipt.

To receive a refund or exchange, goods must be returned unused, in their original packaging and with all original documentation.

Our Story

When my son was born with autism, my world changed and Sensory Direct was born

Ethan had been prescribed different forms of medication, and although they helped a little, I didn’t want to become reliant upon them, so Ethan’s Paediatric Consultant suggested a Weighted Blanket. I remember hearing this and thinking ‘what on earth is a Weighted Blanket’? At this stage I was blissfully unaware of how life-changing that Weighted Blanket would become.
