Welcome to Sensory Direct
The vestibular sense may affect developmental skills including movement, balance, muscle tone, motor planning, and emotional security.
A human's vestibular sense is responsible for balance and creating an awareness of the location of our heads and bodies in relation to the ground. A child that is hypo-sensitive to movement seeks to move more. Children diagnosed with Autism that have a hypo-sensitivity to movement may bump into things, hang upside-down for extended periods of time, spend excessive amounts of time spinning in circles, swinging, or climbing. We have gathered a range of products which can provide much needed vestibular stimulation.
