Our Tuff range is aimed at those who get most of their sensory pleasure from the bite down on the chew and therefore need a slightly harder chew for moderate to strong chewing / biting.

  • Walking along the road to school less stressful.

    Comfortable, easy for child to put on themselves and adjust, these also fold back down to be compact. They do not block a lot of sound but lower levels. They make walking along the road to school less stressful for my daughter taking the sound of passing cars to "noisy cat purrs" in her words.

    • Sensory Chews are not a toy and whilst they are durable, they are not indestructible.  
    • Wear and tear can be expected depending on the oral needs of the user and how heavily the product is chewed. 
    • How long they last may depend on the oral sensory needs of the child as well as other variables.
    • Always check for wear and tear prior to and during use.  Replace the chew if wear and tear is evident. 
    • The lanyard and clasp are not intended to be chewed.

    Good to know:

    • Made from non-toxic, medical grade material.
    • PVC, latex and phthalates free, providing a safe and durable biting surface.
    • Made in the UK.

    Care Instructions:

    • Wash in hot water and mild soap. Rinse well.
    • Can be sterilised or cleaned by popping into the dishwasher.

    They are good for individuals with autism or other additional needs who often have the need to chew and provide a safe alternative to chewing on fingers, cuffs, pencils and toys.  Use the Chewbuddy™ for oral proprioception and sensory feedback to the mouth and jaw.

    ON RECEIPT OF YOUR ORDER

    On receipt of your order please open all packages and thoroughly check for missing or damaged products as soon as possible.  You must notify Sensory Direct of any missing or damaged products within 3 days of the delivery. If we are not notified of missing or damaged products within 3 days we are unable to claim from the carrier and we will be unable to refund or replace the missing or damaged products. If the packaging appears damaged and you do not have time to check the products you should sign the carrier's paperwork and add the word "Damaged".

    Non-receipt of your order must be notified to Sensory Direct within 7 days of notification of despatch.

     

    DELIVERY

    Products that are in stock and ordered before 2pm, Monday to Friday, will be despatched on the same working day. 

    Sensory Direct's Weighted Blankets, Weighted Jackets, Shoulder Wraps, Lap Pads and other handmade products may take 3-5 working days to be despatched if not in stock. We will endeavour to contact customers whose orders may be affected by any despatch delays.

    • Delivery is FREE for online orders of £45 and above within Mainland UK (excluding Highlands, Offshore Islands and Northern Ireland).
    • Mainland UK delivery charges are £5.95 for Courier delivery for orders under £45. (See FAQs for Courier Estimated Delivery Times).
    • Some larger products may be delivered directly from the manufacturer. 
    • Please note we cannot deliver to a PO Box address.
    • We are currently unable to ship outside of the UK unless you hold a trade account with us.

    RETURNS

    We want you to be 100% happy with your purchase, but if you find that the product is not suitable you must return the product to us within 30 days of receipt for a refund or exchange of the same or similar. There are some exemptions to this, please view the Returns page for further information regarding Sensory Direct's Weighted Blankets.

    Returns of sale products must be within 14 days of receipt.

    To receive a refund or exchange, goods must be returned unused, in their original packaging and with all original documentation.

    Our Story

    When my son was born with autism, my world changed and Sensory Direct was born

    Ethan had been prescribed different forms of medication, and although they helped a little, I didn’t want to become reliant upon them, so Ethan’s Paediatric Consultant suggested a Weighted Blanket. I remember hearing this and thinking ‘what on earth is a Weighted Blanket’? At this stage I was blissfully unaware of how life changing that Weighted Blanket would become.
